March Madness 2024 has recently concluded and here in Iowa, we are excited that our women’s team has finished their season as the runner-up in the 2024 NCAA tournament. Leading up to the conclusion of the season, Iowa’s Elite 8 game, then their Final Four appearance garnered the most viewership of women’s college basketball of all time.
Why are so many people watching women’s college basketball now? There have always been great women’s players. Diana Taurasi, Breanna Stewart, Brittany Griner, Sabrina Ionescu – the list goes on and on. What has changed now to make more people take notice?
One of the multiple reasons is innovation in the game. Iowa’s very own Caitlin Clark set the all-time collegiate scoring record this season. In her career, she has scored more points than any male or female collegiate player all time and has become known for her “Logo 3’s”: a long three-pointer from close to mid-court. She makes these with regularity and it’s exciting! You never know when it will happen, and that adds to the intrigue of her games.
I have worked in the Workers’ Compensation Bill Review Industry for 24 years. In my career, I have had a front-row seat to experience numerous medical bill review platforms. Some of them have been around for decades. Some are new, and their developers promise features not yet seen out of other platforms. But then I used ARC.
One year ago, I was fortunate to become part of the accūrō Solutions team. Our platform, ARC (Automation, Reliability & Collaboration), is a true innovation for the industry. It has been built with the best in modern technology, coupled with the combined experience of our team of industry veterans, IT professionals, current and potential clients, & regulatory authorities.
Our Compliance Team works directly with our Medical Bill Review Auditors and our clients to provide regulatory support. They are available to use on a bill-by-bill basis within ARC by simply reassigning bills with any questions that may arise.
Compliance is crucial in work comp bill review to ensure adherence to regulations and guidelines set forth by governing bodies such as state workers’ compensation boards or agencies. By complying with these regulations, payors can avoid penalties, fines, and legal liabilities. Compliance with regulations can help identify opportunities to control costs effectively. By understanding and adhering to rules related to fee schedules, billing codes, and medical necessity, payers can prevent overpayments and unnecessary expenses. Ultimately, adherence to compliance standards helps protect the interests of all stakeholders involved in the workers’ compensation system.
ARC’s innovative design addresses industry challenges and it has been built with features missing from our competitors’ platforms.
But why is innovation important in our industry?
- Efficiency: Innovative technology and processes can streamline bill review, reducing manual labor and increasing efficiency.
- Accuracy: Advanced algorithms and AI-driven systems can enhance accuracy by identifying errors and discrepancies more efficiently than traditional methods.
- Cost Reduction: By improving efficiency and accuracy, innovation can lead to cost savings in the bill review process, benefiting both insurers and employers.
- Adaptability: In a rapidly changing regulatory environment, innovative solutions can quickly adapt to new requirements and guidelines, ensuring compliance and reducing risks.
- Data Analysis: Innovative tools can analyze vast amounts of data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for optimization, helping stakeholders make informed decisions.
- Customer Satisfaction: By expediting the review process and minimizing errors, innovation can enhance customer satisfaction for both insurers and policyholders.
Overall, innovation in Workers’ Compensation bill review is crucial for driving operational excellence, cost effectiveness, and improved outcomes in the industry’s ecosystem. Just as Iowa’s Caitlin Clark is innovating collegiate basketball with her Logo-3s, accūrō Solutions exhibits innovation in this industry, and ARC is our Logo-3.
